This programme is designed for board members and aspiring board members who are dealing with governance issues related to sustainability, diversity and inclusion, emerging technologies, generational differences in the workforce, and the transformation of their business.
This short course looks at integrating these themes into business strategy and building a competitive advantage. The course is designed to expose participants to the latest relevant theories, well-researched case studies and interactive sessions aimed at developing the analytical skills of participants.


By the end of the course, attendees will:

• Understand the latest thinking on corporate sustainability and relate them to corporate goals
• Design strategies that respond to emerging, disruptive technologies and disruptive generational paradigms of work
• Apply diversity and inclusion solutions to one’s organisational context
• Appreciate the trade-offs and challenges associated with leading change

A UCL executive education certificate is provided for the completion of the programme

Paolo Taticchi is a Professor in Strategy and Sustainability & School Deputy Director at UCL School of Management. Highly active in executive education, Paolo has trained thousands of managers and executives of Fortune Global 500 companies. Paolo’s research is internationally recognised. Paolo also has significant consultancy experience in strategy, education, and sustainability. Today, he advises influential organisations and is one of the scientific advisors of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition in Italy. He has received numerous awards for the impact of his work. His projects, quotes and opinions have been featured over 350 times in international media outlets. In 2021, Paolo was indicated by Italian’s leading business daily, Sole 24 Ore, as the most influential Italian under 40.

Stephen Todd is Professor in Innovation and Impact and Deputy Director (Innovation) at the UCL School of Management. He has 40 years’ experience working with technology sector businesses, ranging from start-ups to global companies. He spent ten years at Hewlett-Packard and seven years with management consultants PRTM (now part of PwC). Stephen was Chairman of the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) between 2014 and 2022.

Blaine Landis earned his PhD in Organisational Behaviour from the University of Cambridge before joining the UCL School of Management, where is an Associate Professor of Organisations and Innovation.  Blaine studies how people navigate the challenges and opportunities that arise in the context of their informal relationships at work. His research programme largely focuses on topics in the areas of social networks, personality, and interpersonal perception, using a wide variety of methodological approaches. His research has been published in Organization Science, Psychological Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Academy of Management Annals, and covered in outlets such as The Economist, Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review.

Before joining Spring, he spent 9 years with WPP as the CEO at Wunderman Thompson Italy and Executive Director of Europe at AKQA. Prior to this, he co-founded two start-ups and earned a PhD in Marketing and Economics. Giuseppe is also an Adjunct Professor of Retail Entrepreneurship at UCL School of Management.

Bilal Gokpinar is a Professor of Operations, Technology and Innovation at the UCL School of Management and Head of the Marketing & Analytics research group. Bilal is an expert in product and service innovation, technology management, digital transformation and operations management. His recent award-winning research examines automation and robotics, frontline innovation, agile product and service development, and healthcare innovation which appeared in leading academic journals and featured in practitioner and media outlets, including Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, Manufacturing Today. Bilal received his PhD from Northwestern University, USA.

Adam Kingl - Author, speaker, educator, adviser (www.adamkingl.com) is sought for his expertise on the future of business. One of his areas of research is on the work and leadership paradigms of Generation Y, a demographic that composes half the global workforce today and 75% by 2025, to shine a light on the fundamental paradigm shifts that we will face in the business world. This is the subject of his book, ‘Next Generation Leadership’, published by HarperCollins in 2020. Related to the future of business, companies are concerned about how they can innovate in order to be prepared for the seismic shifts they will face. Through this lens, Adam also speaks from a practical perspective on topics such as how to improve strategic (business model) innovation, management (or leadership) innovation, and how successfully to leverage culture and engagement in work-life.

Marialena Zinopoulou is an Adjunct Professor at UCL School of Management, Imperial College Business School and the University of California Irvine. Marialena is also a business consultant and a keynote speaker at MTech and B2B Marketing Expo in Digital Marketing and Emerging Technologies. She is the CEO of The Digital Marketing Association (DMA), a not-for-profit membership and education organisation. She develops academic programs for digital marketing and emerging technologies in marketing and business for the DMA and other academic institutions. Her PhD focus linked Emerging Technologies (IoT, AR, VR, XR, AI) and immersive learning environments for engagement.
